Description of the program:
About Rajasthani Dance:
Rajasthani dance styles evolved from village folk dances and classical dance forms, becoming stage performance arts. It requires more movement control than folk dance, yet is easier to master than classical Indian dance. With a knowledge of the dance motifs, choreography can be freely and improvisationally created. This class focuses on developing movement control and improvisation skills, alongside learning stage performance techniques.
You'll explore the basic steps and choreography of Kalbelia, the gypsy dance of Rajasthan, the royal women's dance "ghoomar," snake dance, and more.
