Romano Kher Children's Camps

The tradition of folk knowledge camps for children, organized and supported by Romano Kher, continues today, enriching the cultural and social life of the Roma community year after year. These camps are not only highlights of the summer period but also play an important role in the personal and communal development of the participants, in strengthening Roma identity, and in preserving cultural heritage. Every year, the participants of the camps can explore the richness and traditions of Roma culture. The camp programs are diverse and colorful, offering cultural and recreational activities that allow participants to immerse themselves in their own culture in a playful and creative way, and to develop their talents in various artistic fields.

The camps were established at the initiative of the Institution's predecessor, the "Roma Social and Cultural Methodological Center" (CSZMMK), with the aim of strengthening Roma identity and supporting the cultural and civil rights movement. These camps created a unique community space where participants could share their culture, stories, and experiences with each other while gaining valuable knowledge.
