About a mother of two, a happy wife, a woman with Israeli friends—who discovers that she is the descendant of a Nazi war criminal. How can one cope with this horror, this shame? With the knowledge that part of her own family would have killed her without hesitation? With the mirror in which a Black woman looks back at her, yet the facial features of her German family are also visible? Does she resemble her Nazi grandfather? How should she tell her adoptive parents that they raised the granddaughter of a Nazi? What should she say to her Israeli friends, whose families and relatives may have been exterminated by her grandfather?
